Took my tests and passed them all today. Got a trifecta and get a $250 bonus for it! Finally got my cdl and its a huge relief.

Only way I can sleep in a moving truck is if I lay on my stomach when I lay on my back I can feel my guts getting all tossed around. Not a good feeling. One of those things you just gotta deal with a while I guess. But man am I relieved to finally have my cdl.

I had fender mirrors installed. Thought I posted that in this thread. Guess not.

I use the right fender mirror mainly for people merging to my right from an on ramp, and the left for frame of reference for keeping my lane.

I can and have done without both- I prefer not to.

Thanks for the update. I am having hard time looking back while moving forward (i.e. watching the trailer). It seems so unnatural. I can back up so-so, as yesterday was the first time I ever did it, but the trainer said I was a quick learner. I can understand how those fender mirrors would be useful. I LOVE driving a truck it feels natural (even though I was terrified I would mess up!). Thanks for all the help so far JimmyBones. This site has been a live saver.

I have a quick question for either you or IP. I was reading another thread and IP had stated that if someone has no recent experience that it might be easier to starch over and try to go through the schooling of prime than to regain CDL and try to get hired. What would you suggest? I spoke to a recruiter today and she stated that if I had my License again that I would need to take or have refresher or I could just go through process and take road test when I get there. I have not driven in 4 years and I only have about 6 months combined experience from 2007 to 2009.

Here is a question to anyone that has driven at least one winter with Prime, Does Prime use Iron or cables for their tires in the winter? I heard that Prime will shut you down if conditions get to bad.

I don't work for Prime yet but have done a lot of research on them. This would include talking to drivers in person. The one company driver I talked to had the cables which save on weight. He also said that if it gets to bad he won't drive. Someone else may have some better info but I thought I would throw in what I have found.

Pretty much if you cant handle conditions, or arent comfortable with them, you find a safe place to stop, and tell dispatch your done, theyll move your appt time if they have to, had to do it once during my tnt
