I've seen several videos on youtube from their drivers, trainee's. Doesn't make me want to go to Texas!

Following too close isn't considered a minor ticket in the trucking industry. When you're driving an 80,000 pound truck, and following too close, if something goes wrong the results can be catastrophic.

He wrote later that he bumped the car ahead of him, while driving his car, or at least that is how I read it. Actually I know exactly what it is like to be hit from behind by a semi failing to stop at a toll booth. I also know exactly what it is like to be hit head on by an asphalt tanker, thanks to a herd of deer.

Not a driver there ......yet but I have seen many posts about this in the forums and I don't have numbers for the larger condors but the millage in the Lightweights seems to run from 7.5 fully loaded in steeper terrain to 9.5 or so bobtailing with most averages being reported to be in the 8 to 9 MPG range.

So JB, How is it going out there? What kind of loads are you getting? Where are you going? How's the truck running? How have the shippers and receivers been treating you? Any bad weather?

This week has been a bit light on miles, since I started off in the shop, and there were some screw ups with the load I just dropped off, followed by a 12.5 hour unload, then a load taking me back to Missouri to go back to the dealership for them to have a second chance to fix the problem they didn't fix right the first time.

Gosh, sorry to hear of your misfortunes. 12.5 hour unload? Sounds frustrating! What problem is the truck having?

First run out of the gate is spring field to riverside ca. 1577 miles and then home from there. Own truck, own trip, and now I have to go at this full blast. I would say mission accomplished ao far.

    warrior81 and BigJayDragon Thank this.
