Good luck finding a log book, the T/A I stop at in Coachella does not carry them anymore. Luckily I stocked up a couple months ago.
I complained to the Mgr. and they said everyone is supposed to be on elogs. I tpld him not everyone is on them and you still need a back up for times like this.
He told me he thinks Petro still carries them.
I said thanks Jacka$$!easytopleez33 and Steel Dragon Thank this. -
I believe you need a ticket number or repair number along with the paper logs, showing you have reported the problem and are getting the repairs scheduled.
Without the ticket number from Qualcomm..you can be sited..
IluvCATS Thanks this. -
Nothing in the law states that.
But yes, you do need to convince any officer it's malfunctioning and not simply disconnected. This is one area the faxed logs for the last 7 days helps. You obviously were using the eld... -
I heard it on the Internet..it must be true...
06driver, Dan.S, Lepton1 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Every carrier is to provide you a little kit.
In this kit they are to provide you with the following.
- ELD User’s Manual
- Instruction sheet for transferring HOS records to safety officials
- Instruction sheet on reporting ELD malfunctions & recordkeeping procedures during ELD malfunctions
- A supply of paper tracking forms (grid graphs) for at least 8 days, in case of ELD malfunction
06driver, Just passing by and Lepton1 Thank this. -
At his last inspection in Umatilla, my driver was actually told to haul in his printer and his blank logbook pages.
I wonder what they would say if you told him your keep trucking app is your backup logbook?Lepton1 Thanks this.
