Congrats on passing your test.
And alittle advice for you when you get your trainer ask as many questions as you can even if you think it is a dumb question cause the only dumb question is the one you dont ask.
Also drive how you feel safe meaning speed wise or if you feel uneasy driving in the rain snow or what ever dont be scared to speak up and say something to your trainer and sit there and watch how he drives and handles everything.
Also something that a driver told me and so far it has been true once you are on your own you will learn alot more from your mistakes then having someone sitting next to you fixing your mistakes.
And a little tip when your out there its not a race when it comes to hitting a hole at a truck stop or hitting a dock just take your time and dont worry if someone is waiting for you to back up to get around you.

Well I have now been sitting at the terminal for a month waiting on a trainer. I am running out of money, bills are coming due, and the only response I get from my advocate is a shrug when I ask how much longer its going to be.
Apparently my difficulty is twofold. Firstly, my advocate went on vacation for a week and NOBODY took over her list of trainees. Secondly, they have very few non-smoking trainers and the last one that came in was assigned to someone else because his previous trainee was buddies with the new one he took on. This is despite the fact that I have been at the top of the list for more than a week now.
I told them I can give them till Wednesday and I am heading to Schneider.Chinatown Thanks this. -

The fact that the advocates "by default" have people listed as smokers until you tell them NO is crazy. I told mine that I didn't smoke and he asked me as if he didn't believe me! 95% of the students/instructors smoke at Quality Drivers.. a fellow classmate of mine was waiting for over 3 weeks for non smoking trainer and he was told that apparently it is a privilege to have a non smoking trainer... REALLY ... and I wonder why so many people get their license and leave ... -

Celadon is literally right down the road from me. I called them today and will fill in the online application as soon as I get done posting here.
I am lucky to be living in a city with more than a couple of options, but from what I've read, Celadon (QD) is probably the best option for someone with no experience- like me.
Thanks dumbolnd and others for your posts!Gordon A Thanks this. -
LOL....you read this whole thread and youre still going to Celadon?
Ummmmm OK -
Not the whole thread. It was late and I was tired. I will look around more as I can, but for now, working at FedEx Express during peak, I am BEAT!

Why would sex matter in waiting for a trainer?
