I just left R+L. Gave my 2 week notice to the TM and he said ok. That was it. I cashed out my vac and he said done. He would turn it into the big wig at central. When I called him 3 days later to ask a question he never once said anything about me quitting.

My teammate talked to the same big wig about him running solo for a while and he never once asked him why I was quitting.

Guess they both got enough people quitting for same reason they just don't even bother lol

Ridiculous, right? When I managed people and had someone turn a notice in to me, I tried to get every piece of information out of them as to why they were quitting, if anything to help me evolve into a better supervisor.

Good on you for caring about your job.

    That's sorely lacking everywhere.

    Drivers especially.

Many will be the first to gripe about dispatch hosing their trailer with a Stevie Wonder routing solution, yet don't open the hoods of their tractor for weeks at a time.

I thought only mechanics had the keys to open the hood you mean I can do that myself. Lol

...Unless you work for Roadway. Then you’re not allowed to raise the hood or some union prima donna might get offended.

Funny thing about this idea, I came to find out shortly after the Road Driver spots were posted that 2 city drivers were immediately jumping over to linehaul. The allure of going back and immediately having spots underneath me evaporated pretty quickly, and given some of the upcoming movement of the linehaul board I would be at the bottom for a considerable amount of time so I felt pretty vindicated in not choosing to go back to FXF.

I recently had a chance to grab a daytime linehaul run. It sure is nice having one seniority list. :D

I didn’t take it though. I’m not quite annoyed enough yet with where I am to risk taking a run only to possibly have it get cut a week later and be stuck on nights.
