I left ground as a Transportation Manager for a contractor to go to SAIA. I was sitting on the couch a month ago and had a guy hit me up on LinkedIn. Long story short after 15 people and 4 interviews they offered me a gig for 6 figures salary and 42 hours a week. Kinda crazy because I didn't know I had a LinkedIn and I was going to delete the email but something told me reply.

LI is funny like that. I've had some times in my life where a dormant LI account became an abundantly fruitful thing to have overnight lol

They’re not paying you by the mile?

Yes. @ SAIA. But the new gig is back to the office. It's salary. Friday is my last day @ SAIA.

Have an interview for a linehaul spot that seems to have a good schedule, pays well, and good benefits. Looking for the bad side of things.

    viper822004 and McUzi Thank this.

From people I still talk to, once KStaver left the company, the Safety Dept. relaxed a bit with the cameras. Pay was good, insurance wasn't cheap (but it wasn't expensive), and it was excellent insurance at the time. 90 day grace period for enrollment sucked.

Wonder if you're interviewing as a systems driver that runs wild, extra board or bid driver.

From what I was told, it sounds like basic out and back every night. I was told it’s definitely not extra board.

    McUzi Thanks this.

Just be ready to change your driving habits. Once the following distance beeper hits you have to back off if not you’ll get a video. Too many following too close incidents they’ll let you go. No tailgating whatsoever so ever you have to start your passing way before you get close to a truck.
