lol I like that last line. Had to go to google for that one.
If order volume maintains you have have to make a decision around a year from now. Something to think about.
Anyway, the lack of down time in your case could be as high as what? 30k in extra revenue vs an older truck?

One more factoid.
I just checked truckpaper.com for trucks for sale like mine.
I am really surprised at how much these things are going for used right now & the relatively low number of trucks posted that even compare with mine.
That said, I am nowhere near upside down on value to balance owing. Which is a beautiful thangMidwest Trucker, Rideandrepair and dwells40 Thank this. -

It sure is. Meanwhile you can decide when to trade up. Wether to spend repair fund or keep it or apply some of it. Main thing is having the options. Sounds like you’re way ahead of the game. If done right each Trade/Upgrade puts you into a newer Truck with lower note. Sometimes By keeping and rebuilding etc it can take many years and headache to try and beat those operating costs

I’ll also say based on experience when it comes to trailers New vs Old is now a no brainer. Buying New ASAP after running 2 Old ones over 14 yrs time

Buying new not only keeps maintenance cost down but also the down time. Days down is lost revenue. The older truck I had was always pecking at me costing me time and money. I’ve got a new International with the A26 and it’s been great.
Volvo/Mack have their new turbo compound motors that I think are pretty cool. I originally wanted a Mack or Volvo but they wouldn’t build it the way I wanted. I’m happy I ended up with International, the experience was totally different and the new A26 is doing outstanding.20 Mule Team, Midwest Trucker, TallJoe and 1 other person Thank this. -
My maintenance and repairs on my old truck and trailer keep running at .24 cents per mile. No mater what I do?
This year the truck is only .07 but the trailer is at almost .17 per mile.
Now, that dose include truck washes, engine, seats to chrome.
I’ve put 250k miles on a 2001 international (paid $13500) and an 2007 aluminum flatbed ($22k). Truck currently has 960k total miles.
If I had it to do over I might do the truck the same but.........
I definitely only buy a NEW trailer!!!
