No not true, but saying you go anywhere you want any time you want is not really the case..yea you can pick & chose..but you still must go,thats my point..you still do the same thing( drive, wait, fuel, load, unload,) and if you dont you lose alot more than just a job

Well yes, i am still driving a truck, so driving on highways, fueling, loading/unloading for anyone in any situation of driving a truck, you must "go" to make money, so im sorry but i dont see your point, the point im making is yes, you still drive a truck and have the same responsibilitys that come with the job, but in my case i have no dispatcher, i dont have anyone calling my phone, i get on the load board and pick loads that i want to do, and go where i want. And i won't lose my job if i spend lots of time home, but i have been home every weekend (some every other) and i still make good money. My truck is getting paid for and im having a blast doing it, I've always said that one guys job might be perfect but for the next guy it could be a nightmare, i realize that. This thread is simply documenting my experience, in my honest view. i don't need invalid points given, your opinions are your own and i respect that, at the end of the day i sleep great and im sure you do aswell. All the nonsense in between is not why i made this thread.

At least you choose when and where you run, your not dependent on some load planner/dispatcher. In my opion that is freedom.

    It is freedom

The troll saying it ain't freedom is clueless.
Sure yeah you still drive, go to fuel stops and etc but it's not the same.

Compare it to being married vs being single...

Sure a single man still has to get out of bed and live his life BUT he doesn't have a wife nagging when telling him when to get out of bed and telling him to do crap.
That is freedom lol and that's why I'm single too haha.

The only aspect of Schnedier I can think of that isn't freedom is that they demand you take stupid hazmat tests when you don't have a hazmat lol.
