I run about 2800-3200 a week. We have consistent miles and runs. Pneumatic Tank pats more then I do because I'm an End dump driver. We don't search load boards and are paid empty and loaded miles plus surcharge. The fuel discounts are good as well. We typically make $1 a mile to the truck after fuel, insurance, and deductions.

Very nice. I typically make about $.75 a mile after truck payment, fuel, insurance etc... Really good weeks & I can hit $1 a mile after all expenses but it's tough since I have a new truck.

That wasn't including truck payment. Just everything Oakley takes out.

I am an SNI company driver in the intermodal division in chicago. I pull 700-900 a week before taxes and i'll be honest, it's hard to live on that, even as a company driver with no truck expenses other than food. I am a fairly new driver, and to hear that the industry is already a shadow of what made me jump into it is pretty sad. I really hope I can make this a good move for my family, but it is looking less and less likely.

Try JB Hunt intermodal. I did it for a year or so and lover it. I worked regional for about 4 months then swapped over to local. I worked out of the Atlanta terminal bit I'm assuming they are the same as Chicago.

I decided to switch up my schedule, instead of staying out 4-5 weeks i stay out 7-12 days and take 2-3 days off. Its been working out great, my stress level is down since im seeing home more. I've been staying in the same lane pretty much and its been working out for me, I can't believe its already coming up on winter!
