    All-

I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your priceless help and advice to us rookies.

I am 2 weeks away from going to orientation and the training from my school has been top notch. That said, you learn very little "real world" information. You just learn what you need to know to get a CDL license.

The information you have provided me (and others) with, although second nature to you, is invaluable to us. For that I wanted to share my gratitude.

I am very happy that I happened upon this website before starting my new career.

    :biggrin_25520:

I wish you all a very happy new year. Please have a very safe 2012 on the road!

I am optimistic. I will keep you all posted and hopefully be qualified enough to share my own opinion and advice soon enough.

Good luck in your new career deviltalk!

I think everyone who wants to "be a trucker," should have to spend a few weeks looking at this forum before actually deciding to try it! So many people, from the young folks just starting out, to the older guys who are retired from another career have a false view of what it is.

I am convinced, beyond a doubt, that I would not be driving a truck today if it were not for this forum. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT hesitate to ask questions of the members of this board when you are in or approaching a situation that you are uncomfortable with. I recommend that you check out my list of friends and zero in on those that are active posters. Among them you will find a veritable wealth of information and a ready list of members who will, honestly and reliably, get you through the tough times and situations that all new drivers are confronted with.

    Best of luck,

    JustSonny:biggrin_25514:

P.S. BlackW900 and MasterTech conspired to give me the moniker "BigDummy". It was a well deserved and accurate moniker but I have delusions that one day it can be changed to just "Dummy".:biggrin_25522:
