Not that I have heard of, my truck is mine only, unless they put me in a brand new one, I'm in a 2012 Cascadia, it had 229,000 miles when I started, has 270,000 now.

So since my last update I've been up in NJ, PA, OH, IA, IL and a few runs to MS, LA, TX, my truck took 2 days for an 'A' PM, which should have only been 6 hours! Had 4 days at home with 2 days good riding on my bike, now I'm heading out to Portland, OR from Houston(2227 mi) so that will be a good start for next week! Deliver on Wed., maybe if I'm lucky I'll get a load south to LA and visit family, keep my fingers crossed! Anyway still doing good, miles decent plus the accessorials add up for goog checks! No complaints except the COLD up north!

Understand the desire to see people you care about but I don't think I've ever heard a driver consider it lucky to head into LA
I consider every day I spend driving there to be petence for my past transgressions...and factoring in the number of dispatches I've had recently I must have been a terrible person in a past life

    Enjoy!

Well I lived in LA for the last 28 years so what does that make me? I like LA I know the traffic patterns. It's better than NJ!

    An Angelino...
I too have roots in the area and agree that there are worse places to drive, Denver and Seattle come to mind. Knowing the roads helps but the poor surface quality and d-weeds in their Lamborghini yakking with a producer or their agent makes that 70+ ft and 70,000+ monster tiresome to the point where I only consider I'm lucky as the 213 fades in my mirrors.

Have you lived there long enough to know Pacific Ocean Park or George Putnam? Old school LA...enjoy your time with friends and family.

    Harlycharley,
How is this new journey going for you. I will be starting my CDL training this week. Once licensed I was thinking about reaching out to Schnieder for further training as suggested. I was also told to train for Tanker. In your opinion are there many women in this field?

George Putnam? How about Dr. George Fishbeck?
And I used to surf the Pacific Ocean Pier in a past life.
How about the Long Beach Pike?
Saw Hobo Kelly there once, along with Paul Mitchell (remember Jerry and Knucklehead?) at Marineland in Palos Verdes when I was a hodad.
Back then, a Hummer in the parking lot wasn't an SUV.

It's going well and yes we have many women driving tankers. Good Luck and don't give up, you will do fine.
