    This is my year end report for the first three years of my business ... This year I only paid $1,175 in self employment tax on $42,804 of operating income, no federal, no state ... that's a tax rate of .027%. That operating income gets knocked down by the per diem deduction, business use of personal items - such as cell phone, laundry, showers, hotels - and sundry items such as scale tickets, parking, truck washes and the occasional off the books fuel purchase ... etc

    Swiftheadcase, I have enjoyed reading your thread. I know your journey from the front seat. My dad bought his first truck through a lease program through a company called MDR, they have shut down but Dad stills has the truck. Pops did a great job with his as he was very business minded, he made great money during his lease and it set him to own 10 trucks now. He even told me it would be a great learning experience for me if I wanted to own my own truck. I look forward to more from you.
