Thank you Mike, as do I.

Just spoke to mentor again, he is flatbed, 2 am I will meet him at the PHX terminal and then were going to Mex. border to drop load then back to Phoenix, then off to south Texas. He seems like a pretty cool guy from our brief call(s).
Wedge Thanks this. -
AZS, whyd you decide to go flatbed?
-
AZS you heading down to Laredo? if so ill be down their the morning of the 13th. Good luck out their!!
-
Schmud - we're in Laredo right now! Leaving early in the am headed to NC with a load going to CAT. Sure to run into you here at some point though.
Xeebo - I wanted to do flatbed because of the excercise and interesting loads. Get to show pride in your work, comraderie with other flatbedders, can take van loads if you get slow and it does pay a liiitle better.
Anyway, update, these first few days have been the LONGEST of my entire life I think. Mentor wants to gogogo all the time but yup its culture shock. Truck stops exist simply to make truckers fat I think. So much crap. Takes a little getting used to showering when you can but I can get used to it. Laundry is going to take some logistical planning I think. HahaWedge Thanks this. -
Hang in their, and be greatful to be moving and learning. It will slow down some when your on your own. Laundry is best done at the terminals to save money. I didn't get my load to laredo today because the bearings in my trailer axle went out and caught on fire!! ###### step deck!!
Ill catch ya around be safe out their. -
It'll go by fast, you'll see. Just take it a day at a time, and give your mentor all you can.
Stay safe, driver. -
Thanks wedge. No doubt you're right, he lightened up a lot when I did 11 yesterday. Honestly that's fine with me anyway, not one for sitting around myself. I got 10 hours left until we go team, assume that's the part that goes fast.
Wedge Thanks this. -
It might seem boring at first and that could lead to being drowsy so stay frosty and be aware that can happen.
Remember that you're not driving the family car. Recovery is not that predictable. Let safety rule and pull over and rest if needed. If the trainer complains, take it up with driver services. You are within your rights to stop when tired. It's your log.
Stay safe out there AZS, copy?AZS and The Challenger Thank this.
