They want us to run legal, be honest, and not cheat?

When and if they become mandatory, lets really be honest about it, thats what they want. Yes it might hurt your pay check, but if all drivers did it, lost revenue to the companies would get noticed.

If it takes a shipper six hours to get you loaded, be honest, log six on duty hours.

If it takes you six or how ever many hours to get you unloaded, be honest, and log all the on duty hours.

If where your company told you to fuel is the same place every other company tells thier drivers to fuel and your held up for say an hour, log all the on duty time it took to get fueled.

They want it, lets give it to them, they want the truth, lets give them the TRUTH!

But just like me being the only one doing 45 in a 45 zone, i will probably be alone doing this as well.

Plenty of people do it the right way.....

elogs are no big deal...i have been on them for 7 years with no problems...make over 60k per year...

personally i feel like they do more to protect me than hinder me.

Elogs are fine if you are a company driver with direct shipping contracts and preplanned trips. But if you are by yourself and running of loadboards, Elogs will hurt you pretty bad...

No, sir. You won't. That's how I run my truck and my log book. Reaction from the company was a bit different than I expected. I figured on getting chewed out and possibly fired for staying legal and compliant. Instead, I've been given better and better options, more pay, a higher level of responsibility, and more respect from the company.

Driver compliance is not just a driver's issue. It's a company issue as well. And my company sees increased benefits from keeping drivers compliant. Inspections drop, Insurance rates drop, drivers are (generally speaking) happier and more productive with the time they have, and we have all learned how the trucks need dispatched to keep the trucks productive while operating under the regulations.

We don't have them yet, but Canada is preparing for them after the U.S. Makes them mandatory. I've been logging all my waiting times in lineups, sometimes three and four hours long. I figure if they're willing to waste my time during the week I'm going to see to it that I don't have enough hours available for them to waste on Saturdays.
I still make a comfortable living running legal.

If you cant run a business legally and make a profit then find another line of work...no matter what line of work you are in...

That is likely true... as things are now. When a mandate shows up, everyone will be in the same boat. Then add on the potential mandatory speed limiter thing, and it will all get interesting. No one is going to be able to move freight any faster than anyone else, nor have any more time to do it. I am not for it, I am not against it. I just will adapt as I have done whenever something has come down from the nanny state. I will still be able to survive. Of all the things wrong in the world, this gets very little of my attention these days.

So if these ELogs make everyone so legal, then tell me how legal it was when I was eating dinner with another driver, his company calls him to go get a load that night, he was still on his 34 reset, they told him to log it as Personal Conveyance and get loaded. How legal is that?
