I came to Cr England with my brother and went to burns harbor,IN for orientation. we were dead set against leasing. but after we got on the truck with our trainer, we started thinking about it. the trainer we had was a 14 yr driver. and he told us to keep an open mind to the lease program till after our second part of training. when we went thou training it was 21 days and 15000 miles for the first part and 30 days for the second part. now it is 30 days and 15000 miles for the first part and 60 days for the second part unless u were hired with a team partner that Ur trained with and u both go into the second part together (ie. couples, brothers, sisters, friends) that are going to team togather when they finish the second part. then it's still 30 days. well after my brother and I saw that we could be verry effisient at picking up loads and delivering loads on time and not haveing any service issues inbetween....thats when we decided to lease. we had great miles 5500 to 6000 a week and never had a service failer due to driver error. we eaven saved loads from other teams. so after we were rolling for about 7 months I decided that we needed our own trucks to make more money. so we both went thru the train the trainer course. and started training. my lease ended in march. and I'm on vacation for 2-2 and half weeks. when I go back in april I'll be getting my new truck. I cant say I made a boat load of money but I can say for my first year and 3 months I did better than I expected. I read a lot of negitive experiences from others. but I can truly say I have had nothing but a great experience at cr england. I like to think that I don't push the lease program to my studants. in fact I don't eaven mention it till they bring it up. and what I tell them is that it's not for everyone, and that at the end of training they will have to make that decision for them selves. and all that i ask is that they keep an open mind till they do. I show them my settlements, and go over every detail with them. most of the studants are suprised that you have a tax fund to pay your quarterly taxes and u can put away for ur own truck and u eaven have a down time fund. for that unexpected head acke. they also have a book keeping service to keep track of all ur busness expences. o and btw thoes funds are still your money. u have access to the money any time u want thru the qualicomm. I like to build a repore with my studants. I let them know that they can call me if they need help or advise on something.

hi i am going to orenitaion on april 13, what can i expect at orenitaion? i hope its not as bad as people have said. thanks
-
it's only as bad as u make it. I'm really laid back. not a hole lot bothers me. just listen real close to what the instructors tell u. and do as they ask. ull get ur cdl just fine if u don't already have one. and btw if it looks like the school instructors dont look like they care if ur getting it? guess what.....u have to want to get ur cdl more than anything else, the people that put in the extra effors will prosper. if u can help someone else out then try to if they want help. u might need some extra help from someone else.
if u do have ur cdl and ur going to be out with a trainer...then just keep in mind u have a goal. and u want to accomplicesh it. so try to take in as mutch as possible while ur on the truck with the trainer. also and this is a big one. " pak light" did u get that one ? "pack light" soft duffel bag, clothes for a week, sleaping bag, pillow, personal hygine. body wash works really well instead of bar soap. and of course all ur paper work.
remember ur a guest on the trainers truck, that meens it's thier house. abide by their house rules, and training should go smooth.
if ur taking any medication make sure u have a doctors note. if u have a cpap machine get a current months complience letter from the sleep doctor.
before or during ur checkin at the hotel u will be going that day to get ur dot physical. so don't think there going to do that at orientation on monday.
while ur at the school and in training u cannot drink or go to the nudie club. and it doesint matter if ur not going to drive out first. u cannot get in a truck being under the influience.
I hope this helps. and good luck to u, hope everything goes well.cincy dude and mhintz15 Thank this. -
hi thanks for the help yes i have my cdl and 4 months exp. from werner, iam going out with a trainer for 2 weeks then then want you to go team for at least 3 months. Where are the physicals done at?
-
when i went thou they did the dot physicals in the hotel in burns harbor,in (hometown lodge) but i also herd from my last students that when they got off the gray hound the shuttle bus that picked them up took them to a clinic to do the physical. my brother and i arrived on a sun.
If ur going to another terminal then i don't know were they do there physicals at.
also remember with 4 months exp u'll be going out with a trainer for a minimum of 10 days Ur a STT ( short term trainee )
and after orientation while ur waiting on ur trainer ( I hope it's not too long) but ur going to have some training books to do. it would be a grate help for u and the trainer if u compleat all of them before u get on the truck.
just start with the quiz booklet and awnser all the questions u already know. then u can go back back and look thru the other books to find the awnsers that u didnt know. that way when u get on the trainers truck u can bang all of ur quises in to the q-comm and consintrate on training.
I'm going to be flying back to salt lake city, ut on the 31st to get my new truck on the 1st of april.mhintz15 Thanks this. -

that all depends on how bad they need a driver in ur area. and how many drivers they have there. but if u have at least a year u can sign up for it right away.
they do have prepass for ez pass and i zoom the only one u have to pay for in that area is if ur comming from oh they don't pay for that one unless ur on a conway run. -
Sounds like a CR recruiter to me!!! Careful newbies
