Ya those dedicated routes are being plucked from long term veteran IC's with CRE. My phase 1 trainer has been with CRE for 15 years and they cut him from a dedicated route even though his DM promised it wouldn't happen. Plus he was on his 5th lease and they no longer grandfathered him in on the 2 cent variable mileage payment which they had 15 years ago when he first started. So after all this time he has been totally loyal to CRE they are just turning their back on him. He called me the other day and is looking into coming over to Landstar like I did.
England especially could care less...they're on a mission....to screw as many people as they can screw... The England family could care less if you( the driver) lost everything you owned if it meant them taking money from people.
Iam not defending england, I have read enough about them on here to scare a homeless person awayfrom them. But any mega carrier would do the same thing if they thought they could make more money using Co. drivers than IC on dedicated runs.
It's relative to money, but not the return on dedicated runs. It comes back to CREs core business ... time sensitive, temperature controlled freight outbound and expedited backhaul - they need teams. On a lot of the dedicated runs you can make it as a solo on a lease. But on OTR you're going to have to train ... CRE needs those trainers running team OTR.
Thanks for your post. CRE might be everything we read on here, but you don't get as big as they are without making good busness decisions. I believe that is probably half or more in determining how to successful at a lease. It is very obvious that is a lot more difficult to make it as just asolo
That's just crap. A lot of companies get big by screwing people and CRE is real good at that. It doesn't matter to them what kind of reputation they get, since there is a long line of idiots to replace those that saw the light and moved on.
Like you said and I have said the big mega training companies are all the same. Like I also said I am not defending CRE and never will.To bad the teamsters are not Round as much today like they were before deregulation
