I cut my teeth at England. While I harbor no love whatsoever for them, they did in fact put me through school. The most expensive free thing I've ever got in my life. (Although, they did let me become a trainer before I got my own truck...)
Good for you for keeping a good attitude. Please don't lease. Please, for your sake, do not lease from them. Make the most of it, cut your teeth, get your experience and then go make better money after your 6-month commitment is done.

And trust me, I've heard the stories.. Not leasing if my life depended on it. I'm not trying to go home owing them $1000 instead of going home a richer man. I've been telling people under the rug not to do it either cause I know that next week their gonna push it on everyone.Vilhiem Thanks this. -
I'll admit that if I were in that class I would be quite verbal about it being a scam.
Best of luck on that crusade. I suspect I'll be starting one of my own soon enough... Just know that you can't fix stupid.TexasBoy Thanks this. -

SNI's lease program is supposed to be pretty good. One of the better ones I hear.
It's hard to believe when there are so many nay-sayers, but at the same time all companies and leases vary. So it's good to see some numbers for once.
Oh yeah, weekly that's roughly 2,000$ (for the quoted post.) minus insurance. For me, single male, age 2x... Insurance, taxes and the like pull roughly 38%. So that's about 1,200$ post-fees. As long as you're saving recipts, your tax return should return around 15-30% of what was paid out in taxes.
Note: my numbers are based upon my limited understanding of tax law and insurance fees.Last edited: Jun 4, 2015

Check it out if you can, it's only $5 a month and has high ratingsVilhiem Thanks this. -
Either you buy some crazy software that only half-works or you have a giant wad of papers by the end of the year. I tried the former and ran into problems with the software and I'm too easily annoyed with mess and disorganization so the latter will never work...
I'll look at that app though. I already use the transflo app. Keeps me out of truck stops and away from...less than desirable food and drivers.TexasBoy Thanks this. -
Unless you're picking your own freight off of percentage OR leased on to an only ownerop place that pays percentage is it worth it.
All mileage deals where you still have a dispatcher AND they have company trucks too.. those are the worst of the worst.
At 65% I just got out of Shartlesville, Pa (30 miles west of Allentown) to West Virginia to Charlotte for $1.82 all miles. I could go right back to PA, NJ etc for $2-$2.5 right from there if I wanted to. Oh and that's with a dry van and Schneider's "cheap freight" lol
Just think how much money these companies are making off drivers working for nothing.
Don't forget when you're OTR taxes really aren't bad, we get soo much money back coming back to us come tax time.
What you earn depends on how hard you want to work.
Every week the truck sits it's -$1100. If you wanna work your butt off you can do really good.
I can work 3 weeks and take a week off and still do $70-$85k a year taking all that time off.
As a company driver I had no life just to do $50k.TexasBoy Thanks this.
