My husband is also going to Trainco (out of Perrysburg, OH) and MCS gave him a call... he is considering it, but the guy on the phone told him that he would have to bring his truck home... is this true? Do you have to take your truck home? It sounds like you are enjoying your job, and it is reassuring to hear you got such good miles right off the bat. We live in Toledo, so I am not sure how far Northwood is, but we really have no where to park a truck... do you know if they help you find a place to park it? Thanks in advance.

I just googled the terminal, and it appears to be less than 20 minutes away...
-
I believe some info got mixed up. You return the truck to the yard.
You only get to take it home if you live 75 miles or more from the yard. -
You are right, I had my letters mixed up, different company... BUT, he did get an offer from MCS since I posted... and I am really curious to see how it is going for you. He graduates this weekend, and is ready to get on the road and go, I hope things are great for you, could you let me know if you've been home for the weekends and if your miles have been well. That worries me incredibly.
We also live in Sylvania, and he went to Trainco down in perrysburg (or technically still goes there). -
I'm no longer with MCS. I overslept and they let me go.
We were supposed to leave out on a Sunday at 8am, my choice, and I woke just before 8 and text my trainer to let him know and when I got to the yard he had left.
Because of this they let me go. From what I'm being told the trainer told them he never heard anything from me.
I'm looking at Rohel, Swift and a couple other companies. -
That sounds fishy....they let you go just because you overslept? What time did you get to the yard? Did he try to contact you before he left? I'm thinking possibly they found that pic you posted earlier in this thread and somebody got yelled at for it and maybe someone is trying to cover his ***
-
Kwray, I couldn't understand why they would let me go either but I got to the yard at 9:30, no he didn't call or text me before he left nor did he answer his phone when I called him.
As far as the pic I posted, I asked my trainer to take it while I was driving, so it wasn't taken by me while driving if that was a concern.
But I can say this, they went by what the trainer told them and from me contacting another company they asked me what happen. I told them and they said they were told I never called my trainer or contact him and that I quit without notice. This is what they told this company.
When the trainer left he placed my sleeping bag and stuff in the dispatch office. I thought they would just send me out with a different trainer, but they didn't and I'm not crying over spilled milk. -
Keep on truckin' is about all you can do. I'm surprised that MCS would say anything to another potential employer about you. They are only supposed to confirm that you were employed there and at what dates. That way you can't sue them for libel or slander or whatever. But I suppose any company who would do that to you isn't worth working for anyway. I'm sure you'll find somewhere else to go. Good luck!

My husband finally graduated, and he is waiting to hear back from the recruiter at MCS. Out of the replies he has gotten from the places he applied to, this is the only non-flatbed job.
I was wondering if while you were there, did you get decent miles? (I know you were still in training), and when were you able to come home?
I'm sorry you lost your job over something like that, but I keep hearing good things about Roehl, and I am pretty sure that would be his next step if they didn't accept him.
They said there is an agility test, we're both curious what that entails.
Good luck in your future company. -
kwray, I was surprised when the other company mentioned it to me that MCS told them, there recruiter just came out and said it. When he asked what happen, he said he wanted to hear my side of the story. again I was shocked and I believe it stopped me from getting a job with this company.
Petertinger, I did get decent miles, your home every weekend. I was going to go with Roehl but they wont take you after 60 days of graduating from school and Swift was my second choice.
