Ok here we orientation was done The 13thearly got my mentor right away nice guy don't talk much but very helpful. So first run phoenix to elpaso id been up since 518 am so I switched out in Tucson and let him take it to elpaso we were just hauling. An empty so awe sat for almost two days got a load running to iloinois. Now mind you we had R days to get there Texas is a great training drive but it also sucks flat land and IPmph speed limit and your doing UP yeah just roll on then we hit the terminal right outside chicago. Ok now pay attention here very small terminal but there's a lady and a guy there I forget names but they basically rescue messed up trailers if they talk LISTEN very wise people had fun sort of then we got a load into chicago from the Nabisco bakery now chicago ain't to bad just run slow and watch the tracks we went to the the Carolinas next if you run the turnpike in west Virginia those hills are alot steeper then you think use that right truck get her low and power thru if you need to stop for the night stop in beckley at the travel plaza lots of food shops and huge clean bathrooms. So we ran up to the Carolinas my trainers on sometime and im in a hotel for the next few nights freights slow but doing a good run to new jersey. Just remember a few things SWIFT swing wide its a ####### trailer take surges slow and high sand when backing its all in the setup. And get some cheap jersey gloves for when you fuel diesel sucks when it gets on ya.

Im sick of hotels did my entire academy then stayed and went to orientation. No more hotels though a nice warm shower and bathroom easily accessed without having to get fully dressed is nice to but the sleeper reminds me of my sleeping arangments in the navy. Its no fun when your parked at a rest areas off the highway and the fire engine going by sounds like battle stations sirens and you jump from top bunk and realize your in a truck mentor got a good laugh out of that one. And hungry wasssnt an issue a bag full of MRES and cup noodles a gallon of water and a trusty 12volt water heater makes life nice just lest that bag in the truck. Terminal showers ain't bad at least the smaller terminals I was at advice again if you get stuck in a hotel take the paper cups and free soaps and crap makes those terminal days easier and keep small bills handy for change.
