Move on ops, its a troll. 5 months becoming a trainer? 1800 miles driving then need a few hours sleep!
Calling his company a maga.Studebaker Hawk Thanks this. -
There are truck friendly Wal-Mart's, complete with pull through parking. Then at the opposite end of the spectrum are Walmarts with parking lots laid out to obviously discourage trucks, they always have signs. There's also plenty of damage to curbs, signs, and landscaping at those stores.
Here's what I do if I plan to stop at a Wal-Mart: first I look on Google Satellite View and Street View to see where the truck entrance is and see if there are trucks parked in a truck friendly location. If I have any questions I call that location and ask.
I frequently use Google Satellite and Street View for finding customer truck entrances and generally figure out best routing.DAX_, lovesthedrive, kanidana and 1 other person Thank this. -
I just talk to my DM .The towing company want not $4900.They want $33000 for towing.
If you don't belive me call this number and ask them how much for that truck which was towed behind 7 11 near to wall mart .Red color truck -
Okay, now this is way beyond believable. Good humor goes over the top, think Don Tickles.

I firmly believe tow truck drivers are lowest of the low. They are literally modern day mafia.
A friend got towed 6 miles and was charged $7,000. Why? Because they can.
Tow companies get a contract to work a certain area of Houston and if you need a tow at all and police are involved they force you to use that particular tow company, who can charge ANYTHING they want.
Depending where you are, some places have a law where they can’t tow within 24 hours of booting a vehicle. The owner has within the 24 hours to pay a lesser fee to remove the boot. A lot of tow companies just put the boot on until a tow truck arrives and tries to scam the driver out of much more.6wheeler Thanks this. -
.... so NOW what?!?!?
(color me intrigued.....)
Glad I'm not OTR anymore, tbh.Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
I am sorry this happened to you. I had a similar experience in a vacant lot that the shipper assured me was ok to park. tow put boot on then woke me up and gave me option of paying $600 and leave or get towed. I paid but it hurt. Furthermore, it left me honestly traumatized. I am afraid to even make-a-spot in a truck stop now.
Its a racket. I know ooida had some luck suing for exorbitant tow bills but $4900 to tow a big rig is about average.
Probably your company will make you pay tow bill but unless they are real dogs they won't fire you.
Really want to hear what you company tells you please.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
$4900 is not an average tow bill.....
