good luck to you folks. a lot of these companys that ask for an obligation of a year or so is the only way some of us can afford to make the transition. there are a lot of bitter and discouraging people here that do nothing but run down companys for some reason. you can make the best of it and when your time is completed you can go to a company of your choice. GOOD LUCK AND GODSPEED

These are companies that thrive, because they rely on desperate people.

True; some people complain for no reason, but what you fail to realize is many of us are here to help. We have been around and are aware of the tactics of some companies. Think about it. What do I gain or lose if someone I do not know goes to one of these companies? I try to help people not make mistakes. What you choose to do is something you have to live with not me.

Do you know how many people that have tried this because it was the only way they could afford fail to meet the year obligation and end up with a bill for schooling they can't afford ? So you make the transition from poor to poorer and wonder what the reason is discouraging people run down bottom feeder companies that thrive on people like you .

i just think that good advise doesent come in the form of some of the comments that people made in reference to what people are trying to do is very helpful. constructive critisism is great. but i've only seen a person named lavender give any type positive feed back without the stupid jokes and comments. eveyone had to start somewhere.

Try hanging around a board for awhile. After seeing the same situation again and again with the same results.... I have researched them... I don't think its that bad.... I am going there anyway... people get tired of offering advise... only to be called COMPLAINERS or NEGATIVE posters.....

From years in a certain field of work, I agree with those who say that it is "what you make it" - also reality is that it can be great for one and bad for another based on many things. I am faithful and am giving CR England a try - headed there this weekend to start class on Monday. I look forward to an adventure in this decision....standby for more.

Well I'm just a newbie to the board. Not to the industry. My big experience was 3 yrs. back in the eighties with NAVL commercial freight, some local driving and some mechanic work.

I've been tossing around the idea of getting back on the road and almost got sucked into C.R. England. They sure do have a nice website :biggrin_255:

So I filled out the online app, contacted a recruiter and was scheduled to start school in less than a week. It seemed kind of funny to me the way the recruiter had such a ........ luke warm attitude + they wanted $200 up front. So that's when I did a little more research (that's how I found this site too :biggrin_25525:) After reading some of the stories on the web........ I just let the whole England thing drop. They never called me back or nuttin'.

I figure that I'm better off.

As far a training companies they are what they are. At least choose one that doesn't have outright horror stories. Driver and trainee complaints exist at every company judge them accordingly.

to the OP, good luck. (I mean that sincerely too)

    ................ Jim

One of the biggest no brainers in this industry......
IT SHOULD NEVER TAKE ANY OUT OF POCKET MONEY TO GET TRAINED BY ANY COMPANY !

If you are accepted to be trained they should be putting money into you not the other way around .
