some states will actually fund your schooling. don't know how this is done but alot of the folks at my school did this. I was stupid I paid for mine in cash.
Also Roehl Transport has a school. I worked for them. They pay more than alot of other companies and have Van, Reefer and flatbed divisions.

The state of Missouri paid for mine, but that was 9 years ago, when American Airlines bought out TWA and we were laid off. I went to Ft Scott CC school down in the bottoms in KCKS. At the time there were across from the long row of grain silos. I think they moved, but don't know where, see their trucks doing backing and stuff in that big parking area on I70.
I had no complaints about what I got for the money, oh yeah, i didn't pay anything. And I never went OTR. -
without having the driving experience and you told that there is not enough money to go for the driving school. But I suggest you to go at least one of you to the driving school because without any commercial driving training or the experience it's not worthy to directly try the commercial vehicle. and when one of you can get the good experience the other can easily learn from the other.
