got caught yesterday at the scalehouse. i was not current on my logs. i started it for the day but did not draw my line from the sleeper to PTI to drive. 11 miles later, i got DOT'd. the officer was cool. no out of service, no fine, just wrote me up and cut me loose. well i have to tell Barr Nunn b/c i also had a burned out clearence light on the tractor that needs fixed. now they put me on 6 months probation, lost my next bonus $600, my next raise, and here's the best part. after i deliver this load. i am to p/u my next load today, take it to Grand Rapids, MI for Mon am, and then take a company enforced non-paid 48 hour shutdown. did i mention they also dont me to idle the truck? then maybe they can find me a load on Dec 24th that might get me home 4 christmas! this is garbage!!!
i deserve the punishment. i got caught doing something 99% of us have done. but why should go p/u and del the next load and then take a shutdown. it is bad enough that i'm going to lose money right b4 christmas, but now I might not get home 4 the holiday either??? i'm so mad, i wish i had something else lined up. i'd tell Barr Nunn ti kiss me where the Good Lord split me!!! i'll keep you posted as to what happens on monday as the only people in the office are too dumb to walk and chew gum
my x-mas gift from Barr Nunn! this job stinks

11 miles? isn't that with in 15 min.
Man that sucks -
HOWEVER, i do have to call you out on the whole "...99% of us have done..." remark. I am always current on my log book. Just the other day i was in Indiana, and a driver got on the radio about how he got a high dollar ticket for speeding, and another ticket for not having his log book up to date. A few made the joke "we all run legal logbooks..." which got a couple laughs. But other than cheating the log book at the shipper/cosignee (i only give them 15 minutes after i arrive for unload/load/drop/hook whatever, then its up to line 2) i always run up to date. This guy who got a ticket in Indiana was A FULL DAY BEHIND !! Now i am willing to bet that nobody here runs that far behind. But i'm always current with my change of duty. guess i'm that 1%Hyper and panhandlepat Thank this. -

Went over mine on Thursday. Load not done till 15 min after. Truck stop 30 miles away. After rush hour. Thought I could do it in about half hour. Did not get there till almost 2 hours after the 14. Two car accidents in separate areas had the traffic backed up. Safety not happy, but no place to sleep. -

I had told dispatch on the phone unfortunately, that there was no way that I could drive 2 hours, drop and hook and drive to a truck stop 30 miles away, in 3 hours. -

They called me. All future load info to be sent by qualcomm. I will not be put in this situation again.
I know how to run illegal. Other drivers with our company told me to back the log and make it look legal.
I ran illegal for years in the past. I no longer see the need to risk it and will not.The Challenger Thanks this.
