We replaced the front engine mounts. when we went to replace the rear engine mounts, the old ones had some slack. the replacement mounts , had the same amount of rubber as the old ones. we contacted the KW service department to see if the slack was normal. The service tech told us to replace just the lower section of the mount. THE PROBLEM IS THAT WE CAN'T REMOVE THE NUT, AND WE CAN'T TIGHTEN IT UP. LOOKING AT THE REPLACEMENT MOUNT, WE ARE NOT SURE IF IT CAN BE TIGHTENED. MY QUESTION IS, IS THERE SUPPOSE TO BE SLACK ON THE REAR MOUNTS? THANKS

No slack, either heat the nut with a torch to get off or cut it out. I recommend the aftermarket engine mounts

Yeah those mounts should be tight. If you look at the new mounts, there should be a steel collar molded into the rubber that the bolt sits inside. That steel collar (tube may be a better term), is what prevents the mount from being crushed when you tighten up the nut. Over time with salt and corrosion that bolt can rust and become one with the collar, making it a PITA to remove. Might have to put a torch on one side of the nut until it starts glowing, then quickly hit it with an impact gun. The nut should usually spin right off. Being those mounts are usually burried up in the frame near heat-sensitive components like wiring and hoses, you should take precautions to shield and protect those parts from heat damage.
