UH-oh now look what i went an did!!!! -
explain pls. -
What the N-14 did was allow Cummins to keep the same style of block pump and other parts they had from the Big Cam Series of motors yet allow them to convert them over to Electronic Controls. That is what made them better than the BC series they also were Easier to work on than Cats for one reason IMO you had a Piston fail or Head Gasket Fail you only had to remove one over 2 Clyinders not the entire HEAD for all 6 pistons. Rods and Mains easier than heck to install in them.
Magnum1 Thanks this. -
how about s60 detroit vs n14 cummins -
Good and bad in both. I prefer the N-14.

60 Series has better Fuel but Harder to work on at times. Detoprits love to Eat the Bull Gear on them at it is big time Expensive to replace them. Also Detroits do like to leak some oil at times. Beyond that they are a decent motor at least the ones I drove.
-
so n14 is a better choice vs s60 detroit?
-
N-14 Cheaper PartsDetorits Better Fuel Mileage. But the biggest Differance in Mileage is the DRIVER. I took a truck that could not get Fuel Bounus to the point the boss was wondering what was wrong with it and in 3 months had it as the Best one in the fleet.
