It looks like a different style bolt and I got the rest of the bolts of but it still seems held down with the back bolts, the ones toward the transmission

Do they need to come off?

They are torx or allen head, can't remember.

Ok thanks. They look completely rounded on the inside?

Mine were torx on inside, makes it much easier to get them started going back in. And 1/2 inch socket on outside to remove and torq down. Can't tell if yours are both or not.

Nice. I see the torx now. Got three to break loose and got one that’s basically rounded out :(

Any ideas? I’m going to go like at Home Depot or fastenall for easy out options

Edit: my local shop (good guys) gave me a grinded down 1/2 socket that should be able to fit behind that bracket to pull the bolt. We’ll see!

Try an allen wrench socket, sometimes an allen wrench will work in a rounded torq. My back bolts were both torq AND regular hex head that 1/2 inch socket fit on. Took them out with half inch socket then started them back in with torq bit socket by hand and extension then torqued then down with 1/2 in socket.
Cummins might have replacement bolts like mine. Fastenall might as well.

Yup the ground down 1/2 socket worked like a charm. Time to pull the pan now, got just two bolts holding it up.

It's a shame when Cummins built the N-14,they cheaped out on the stamped steel pan, instead of staying with the aluminum pan. Had to pull my N-14 pan, strip it and paint it with good rust resistant paint also,as I had the rusty pan issue too. Got it fixed before it rusted through, only cost me a pan gasket set.

Is there anything else I can do to assure I get it all out besides fishing out the pieces from the pan? I found the two big pieces and about 5 smaller bits. Got em out. Inspected the crank and it looks good.

Not sure where you run but if you run winter/salt roads, I would clean up bottom of the pan and give it a goood paiting. They are notorious for rusting out.
