N14 smoke on deceleration

Have a 99 W9, n14. Started having a very slight rough feel/sound week or so ago. Felt like a clogged fuel filter, changed filter same issue. Been getting little worse so taking to shop tmrw. But just today I've noticed when I get on the throttle I get the normal little puff of black smoke, but when I roll out of throttle I get quite a bit of white/grey/blueish smoke . Does this sound like injector? This is my first n14 so not sure what I'm feeling

 

Yea I'm hoping that's all it is. Going to Kenworth in champaign, il first thing tmrw. They've been pretty good about getting work done pretty quick. Not cheap but what is?

 

Right on x mech! Shop called me little bit ago. #2 injector plug on side of engine wasn't making connection. They are running the overhead while they have it.

 

Ok picked truck up yestetday. The minor miss is gone, but it's still smoking like crazy on deceleration. They test drove it bob tailed so it really doesn't do it unless ur under a load. I have no more blow by than normal, and after 600 miles my oil level hasn't dropped noticeably. The exhaust smells like burning oil rather than raw fuel. Any chance there's oil getting past a seal in turbo, letting some seep out thru exhaust when lifting off pedal? It wouldn't take much to look bad, and I would think if I'm losing oil thru rings I'd notice a change in oil level. Any thoughts apprecitaed

 

Yea copy that on the Fords, not a fan. Smoke is prbly more grey/white than blue. Just smells like burnt oil, turbo was replaced bout 200k ago by previous owner. But I know he put the cheapest one he could find on it. Guess I'll find out one way or the other!

 

Well got home and pulled boots off turbo. The fins on front of the shaft were ate to ####, enough slop in it to let it rub housing. You would think a shop charging $100 an hour would check that given the symptoms I told them. Getting a new turbo at Sxhneid diesel in morning.
