Truck will be painted this week and i need to get the decals made but i was wondering if someone knows if just having the company name, usdot, and unit number is legal. Some of our truck s have the VIN although we rarely travel to CO, the weight,mc and kyu my dad told me something about a new law that doesn't require MC and KYU but i been asking around and have gotten mixed answers at the scales.

That is all that is on my truck, company name, usdot, and unit# Never had any problems.
Don2WS Thanks this. -
You need company name, US DOT#, unit#, and last eight of the vin.
Don2WS Thanks this. -
Don,there is a member on here who works for the DOT.
Look for "Scalemaster".
Ask him,he will know.Don2WS Thanks this. -
And if you are leased onto someone it must say operated by, not leased to.

You do not need MC but if going into KY you will need KYU. At present it is the easiest way for them to look you up.
Even if you think you will go to CO once I would add the last 8 of the VIN. It is still a law in the CO books that you have to be labeled with it.Don2WS Thanks this. -
thanks everyone i want the truck to look smooth and i'm putting the decals on the toolboxes.

You can put it anywhere on the side as long as its a contrasting color and can be read.
NavigatorWife and Don2WS Thank this.
