NASTC fuel prices for fuel at TA in Barstow, CA was $3.5092 compared to cash pump price of $3.969 that is $0.4598 per gallon cheaper....WOW! Saved $57.23 on 124.473 gallons.

Well worth it just for the fuel program.

Exactly. Even if you compare the NASTC price to the cheapest cash price you can find in the state, you still can't find something cheaper. Just a few fill-ups pays off the membership. If I drive 100,000 miles this year at 6mpg (not counting reefer fuel, or even better MPG), at an average of 30cpg (what it seems to be most of this year), that's a savings of $5,000 in a year. Even at 15cpg average, that's $2,500 savings in a year.

Funny thing that NASTC is wholesale fuel cost plus 5 cents and notice with oil prices dropping rapidly along with wholesale price truckstops pay for fuel, the pump price does not drop near as fast as the wholesale price does and when wholesale price goes back up the NASTC price is closer to the pump price than when dropping.

What is it with you calling everyone a Troll? Seriously man you have been floating around the forum giving advice when you have ZERO first hand experience!

I was JOKING with Bill (and HE knows it - even if you, apparently DO NOT). And TheBigDiesel aka Frank Durbin - IS a TROLL (was a member - expect to see his latest, quite recognizable re-incarnation any day now).

I give advice on THINGS I KNOW ABOUT - regardless of whether or not I'm currently driving, or own a truck. I SINCERELY APPRECIATE the help and information I gather from members here, and only offers "advice", where I can be "pertinent and accurate". And unlike some others (not you in particular) have no problem standing up and admitting where I may be mistaken, misinformed or incorrect - and LEARNING from it.

But you can be my FAVORITE TROLL if you like (not joking, okay, just joking)...

    Dice,
NASTC does a good job explaining this. I do find it interesting when I have been looking at loads for drivers and seeing what rates are along a route that it will not be hard for one of my drivers to see a $.40/mile savings when NASTC had an average for the month at $.20. I would suspect that shows the difference between company drivers and O/O.

Fuel costs. I wasn't all that excited about them with what they quoted on average actual savings. Then I started looking actual savings on routes and was amazed. Only thing I can think of that would bring that average down is company drivers not worried about what it costs and fueling for showers or points.

Fleet one is a PITA but it should be easy to save $.30 year round with these people.
