And you're not the only one, JustPj, nor the last. Some newbies never get to a truck, sent home after traveling a thousand miles to Orientation--with or without transportation. Lots of unfairness to go around as you'll read on the forums...

...then carriers load up driver DAC/HireRight to prevent moving on to a better job, a better carrier. Adding injustice to injustice.

You've stepped into an arena with a mind-boggling (or should be) 100% turnover. Navajo never expected you to stay, just to get some freight moved, cheaply. Constantly needing new drivers with a survival rate of zero to feed the machine.

Unfortunately, this exact method of "management" is way too common in this industry.

Because they--and other bottom feeders--get away with this kind of thing all the time. Newbies are intimidated, confused, and don't know the law or their rights very well, and thus, they're chewed up and spit out. This promises to be a story with a very different outcome...!

Whats sad besides leaving pj stranded and scared,Navajo refused to get her help ASAP.Very typical in this industry.Companies DO NOT have an ounce of compassion for drivers just their customers. The minute pj hung up from the hr dept then soon forgot she called and went about their business.

Because unfortunately the dumping of students in the middle of nowhere(or anywhere but home) happens a lot...

It wasn't very long ago that I heard of a driver dying in his truck and the company would not even send his body home for proper treatment, If this is the norm, I'm not sure I picked the right career for me, I'm as compassionate as can be and would expect that the company send my remains home for proper treatment and so forth!.

Ok I have got to put in here
    1. what the heck is a newbie doing any training for any ways?
I get this from an earlier post one supposed to have had 42yr the other had 2yrs you have got to be kidding me Training with only 2yrs that right there sends a red flag to me!!

Another thing I don't care who you think you are there is no excuse to leave someone on the side of the road I understand getting pissed and even threatening but to really do it that's is so wrong in so many ways.

Then even if the trainer does leave someone there is noway a company should ever allow a trainee to be stranded with no way home its inhuman and just straight up bad PR its worth the extra cash to avoid whats coming next a good lawyer will wipe the floor with the company and possibly the trainer depending stranded trainee is
once the company found out they should have been on top of getting her home period.

I have spent my life either driving or working out of state construction never have I seen a company not make sure to get the employee home may have had to have them wait a few days to do so but never said to bad find your own way home.

    All I know is
    1. longhaul you have hurt the companies case by chiming in believe it or not.
2 with stranded trainee being a lawyer I see bad times coming for Navajo.

    good luck to you JustJP

PS I hope the trainer, dispatch, HR and a few others enjoy the unemployment line soon.

pattyj, JustPj, Lux Prometheus and 2 others Thank this.

That was a huge story, can't remember the company.Think its Southern Refridgerated.Companies do not care and never ever will care no matter how much they get sued for.

Not to mention its in the teens up where pj is at. What if she had no money and no room right now. This is not a big city at all. There are no shelters up there. She could have died of exposure. I think that is the true gravity of what Navajo did is they put here life and physical well being in jeopardy.
