    An entire OTR industry needs a wake up call... Navajo's a good place to start. Poor maintenance (62.3%), incredibly high unsafe driving (91.5%). The abandonment of Pj's likely an extension of the running pressure Navajo puts on its drivers that results in super high unsafe driving. Doesn't just happen.

    More to do, folks. More to do here.

    Link to FMCSA National Consumer Complaint Database: http://nccdb.fmcsa.dot.gov/

    "Have you experienced safety, service or discrimination issues with a moving company, bus or trucking company, including hazardous materials, or cargo tank facility? Please call... or file a complaint below."

    ~~~~~~~~~~~
    "We Want to Hear From You
    "The information you share will help us to: 1) improve motor carrier safety enforcement; 2) improve consumer protection by ensuring that moving companies use fair business practices; and 3) identify and address service and discrimination issues. We're dedicated to helping provide a safe, fair and pleasant travel experience for everyone."
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Last time I checked, we truck drivers are part of 'everyone'.

    Everyone willing to take the time can submit a complaint to the NCCDB. Don't expect any kind of quick response. But our voices and our complaints count--only if we raise them.

    Am in process of filing complaint. Asks for my personal info, then to identify company (I entered DOT #202381 and it pulled Navajo up), has check boxes for types of violations (I checked off falsification of logs). Complaint has to be made within 60 days of occurrence.

    Can't seem to navigate around Navajo's Facebook page. Do you have to be a Facebook member to pull up the posts...?

    I understand exactly what you're saying.But it starts with the drivers by sueing the hell out of companies.I did twice and nothing will hesitate me from doing it again and again if I was done wrong by a company. The forum is flooded by drivers students and trainees that have excellent cases for legal action but how many follow thru.Companies know they can get away with everything because drivers don't take action.They just quit and chalk it up as another bad company.Which is why companies keep following the same bad practices over and over and over.Then FMCSA has thousands and thousands of complaints about carriers,so why aren't they getting investigated

    I always saw their tacky orange trucks with the decapitated indian girl logo and thought to myself: who those that? what kind of a person decides that's what they want their equipment to look like. I can only imagine how the company is run.

    I remember them from the late 70's ,1977 to be exact when i started my career. Didnt they have baby blue tractors? the equipment looked better back then.

    While it's important that individual drivers fight back, they need support from their fellow drivers, from us. Government agencies like FMCSA face an overwhelming set of facts:

    The Motor Carrier Freight Industry:

    • 703 thousand active U.S. motor carrier companies
    • 4.7 million commercial vehicle drivers in the U.S.
    • 9.0 million commercial trucks (over 26,000 lbs) operating in the U.S.
    • 26.2 million trucks (all types) on U.S highways
    • 5.1 million commercial trailers registered in the U.S.
    • 61,000 HAZMAT trucking companies
    • Trucks carry over 2 billion tons of hazardous materials annually
    From TSA web site: http://www.tsa.gov/stakeholders/highway-motor-carrier-branch

    Can you imagine dealing with complaints on 703,000 ACTIVE truck companies?? From 4.7 MILLION truck drivers??
