Pj authorized me to distribute a press release about the predicament Navajo Express has put her in and provided me a sworn statement to the truth of same. Can't include her last name or contact info here, but below is the part that would matter most to the TTR community.

"[Pj] reports that her employer, Navajo Express, a Denver-based trucking company (over 700 trucks), a refrigerated freight hauler, refuses to assist her to get back home to Denver or with her expenses in Cle Elum, Washington, about 18 miles from where Navajo Express left her stranded and abandoned on Interstate I-90.

"[Pj] stated that she was a driver trainee for Navajo Express when forced out of the Navajo Express truck she was driving and remains stranded in Cle Elum as of this writing. [Pj] reported that on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at about 11:00 pm at night on Interstate I-90 in Washington State in 8 degree weather, she argued with her driver trainer and was told to get out of the Navajo Express truck.

"[Pj] reported that she argued with her trainer after her trainer falsified [Pj]'s log. Then, after five hours of driving, [Pj]'s trainer refused [Pj]'s request for her 30 minute break. The argument escalated and [Pj]'s trainer demanded [Pj] leave the truck. The Washington State Patrol responded to [Pj]'s 911 call and transported [Pj] 18 miles to Cle Elum, a small town about an hour and a half from Seattle and 1500 miles from her home in Lakewood, Colorado, near Denver.

"According to the FMCSA CSA site, Denver-based Navajo Express (DOT #202381) has an at best, fair record of 62.3% for Vehicle Maintenance (the lower the score, the better). Navajo Express has an astoundingly bad record, according to the FMCSA CSA site, for Unsafe Driving, a whopping 91.3%, mostly for speeding. See: http://ai.fmcsa.dot.gov/SMS/Data/carrier.aspx?enc=wGtMqXqBzyQsJYCd2tsBjg==

    ...

If folks here would like to assist in distribution of a version of this press release it would have some of her personal contact information deleted but would have a working contact number. I'm thinking truck stops, to Navajo Express drivers, shippers where you see a Navajo Express loading/unloading. If there's interest, I'll get with Pj for approval of a flyer for hand distribution. PM me if interested.

The question is "WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO GET HOME"? I don't think I would wait for The CL Lady to show up, she probably told someone about her picking you up and they thought the norm... about a truck driver needing a ride someplace, "That isn't normal you better think that one over" Bla Bla Bla! It is to bad that anyone would think such things after they have communicated and had all of the questions answered....

Serve me up a heaping plate of I-told-you-so! Have not heard from her at all today. I truly saw no red flags in our discussions. Please don't come down on me, y'all, I'm trusting and optimistic. Altho, I won't mention that I'm thinking I might still hear from her; her dental appt. was at 10 this morning, two hours ago Washington time.

In any event, I earlier pulled money off my comdata card and paid the motel owner, a really decent guy, for two more nights at a greatly reduced rate. That gives me a little breathing room. The logistics of getting my stuff to anywhere in this little town where it can be packed and shipped, and shuttled to the next town to pick up the bus at 1:10 am are somewhat overwhelming. If it's what I have to do, then I have no choice.

So that's where I'm at. I'm sorry if I'm letting anybody down for not jumping up to do that. At least the weather has improved, it's now 21 degrees

Dont you all think this has gotten out of hand now with the press releases etc....shouldnt we be more worried about how to get pj home before we start trying to put Navajo out of business?

theres the post about safety and women drivers with a "tip" of running the seatbelt through the door handle? THAT post seems like an ideal one to post a few "other tips" or suggestions.

LIKE if you are a trainee........

I wonder , did anyone get a screenshot of the other post? Maybe its in an archive somewhere? That can be copied and reposted there?

No, Anon42890, I have not heard from Navajo, and knowing the personalities in charge and involved, I don't expect to. They're sticking to their theory that how they handled it from the get-go is rational and acceptable. They obviously strongly dislike me, and are letting personal feelings, and the whistleblower aspect, dictate their actions.

I suppose even the owner of the company has been apprised of the situation and is just ignoring their culpability. If that's wrong, I apologize to Mr. Digby, whom I have never met.
I don't know the extent of his involvement in the day to day activities. Perhaps he'll release a statement once a member of the media contacts him. Maybe he's consulting counsel, who knows?

One thing is for sure, and that is that I will post on here when I know anything. I thank everybody for their continued thoughts, prayers, and interest in this story. Please be safe out there, ya hear?
