So.. a little follow-on to this sage. I tried getting my DOT physical updated through the company. So I came in last Monday (my days off are Monday and Tuesday), went across the street to go fill out the paperwork with safety, and I got a spiel about how if we're not driving for the company, they don't cover our physical, so I explained that we sometimes have to road test trucks, run them to and from dealerships, etc. That did not go over well, and I got a stern lecture about how I'm not qualified to drive for them, I don't have a driver code, and was told several times over to not drive off-site anymore. So I let my supervisor know I got rejected, and I'd just run to the Wheat Ridge TA to get my physical done there.
Well, he had other plans, and figured he liked the idea of having someone on nights & weekends certified to drive off-site for the company, so that's what's going to happen. Now, I have to attend the second day of orientation this Tuesday.
Any of the drivers with the company tell me what I can expect?
I'm kinda hoping I don't have to take the shop tour, but the senior tech on the floor likes to mess with me sometimes, and I wouldn't be surprised if he made me join them for it. So, in the event that it does happen, I'm compiling a list of most annoying driver questions to ask him. And, rest assured, I've got quite the list compiled. Everything from, "can you install an inverter for me?" to, "do you have change for a $20?" (the latter is one of the most common questions we get).
But, seriously... anyone here tell me what that day's going to consist of, and how long it'll be?
