WiseOne's Comments, I saw the TV footage of this, it was wicked! Looked like it only took about a minute and GONE. Man, this sure is a "time of great knowledge" to be sure. I hear China wants the full details of the shoot down...I wonder if they gave us the details of their satellite shootdown? I doubt it!

Russia and China both are kind of upset that we did this.

I guess they think it was for other purposes.

They'll just have to get over it. It was our sat and we can shoot it down if we want.

If I remember right China shot one of their own sats down last yr, and they didn't consult the USA to see if it was OK with us.

I agree with Brickman, China and Russia needs to get over it. Like they have ever consulted, or considered other nations when they have done something like this.

I do agree that there were probably alternative motives behind this incident. I believe it was a demonstration of capability of anti-satellite
for Russia and China. They've been flexing their muscle for a few months and this is what the United States had to answer back.

"China is continuously following closely the possible harm caused by the U.S. action to outer space security and relevant countries," Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao said at a news conference in Beijing. "China requests the U.S. to fulfill its international obligations in real earnest and provide to the international community necessary information and relevant data in a timely and prompt way so that relevant countries can take precautions."

What a bunch of horse hocky. What info did they give us?

Do you really think the U.S. Navy used their top-of-the-line toys on this little shoot down? I doubt it.

Kind of like giving China the blueprint to how you made the Model-T when you are driving a Maserati.

"You see here, Mr. Wang, we used our super secret SM-3, which has magical powers"

Didn't we out source our government super computer contract to china?

I see our muscle flex to be as much for china as it is for the middle east and south America.
We have a lame duck president and two of the three president finalist who are anti military back bone.
Sending in the secretary of defense was only needed to show we aren't push overs. YET??????
