I'm in Arkansas and it was the same here. Just went in a signed the Excepted Interstate form and kept my CDL. Even though at the time, I never thought I would go back driving. But I did go back and all I needed was to go back in with a current DOT physical and I was good to go.

Thanks for the feedback. It was the most confusing thing for me to find out the correct information. I wish i knew 7 years ago i could have elected "excepted interstate" and not need a DOT card. Would have saved me money and time. I always needed to get a new DOT card every year instead of 2 years because of my medications. When i called NC CDL department 7 years ago they didnt give me the right information when i asked them. I dont think many people know that in some states you can elect excepted interstate and not need a DOT card, if your not driving commercially. I read so much information on the internet that says otherwise.
