NC I77 N scale detour at the Virginia state line.

Np I was shown it by a DOT Officer that took me there to sit out a shut down. He pulled me over for speeding but I failed to have my log up to date so I got nabbed. But the speed he said I was doing was no possible with the truck I was driving. And I use to stop there when I could since.

 

Also stop[ and get you a pocket Truckstop book, cost around 5.00 and it will list all truck stops which will list their services. Best investment you can get. If you had that you could seen Brindles Truck stop listed.

 

Always better to weigh, but use to be legal to run US-52 north up old Fancy Gap but was illegal going south (down), not sure if that's still the case.

 

Just FYI, North Carolina allows a max of 36K on a set of tandem axles. Seldom a need to try to dodge a scale.

 

If North bound, they are below the Freeway level. Easy to miss.

 

Used to be , but I think it's been changed , you can't go up the mtn. now at least not in a big truck...anything over 12k GWV

You can still go up old road but its a hard,pull two lane.there is away around but 6.5ton per axle,so if grossing 80k break out the check book,they do watch the way around during the day.there is another way around but if you get caught,you WILL be taken to scale for full inspection.
