I haven't enrolled yet. I was only able to get a partial approval on financing. I'm going to be visiting mid-florida tech about their course, and unless its a good enough price difference to change i'm gonna be seeing about a co-signer.

EDIT: National Training is way too far away from me

TDI denied me and my co-signer on the loan (both of us should be qualified, something is wrong.) but I have some more family support now and I will be checking out mid-florida tech orientation on tuesday to see if this is a possibility. slightly discouraged but still looking forward to having some real work!

Wow I got approved partially. I hope nothing happens to me. I got some family help on this and if something goes wrong, it won't be good.

Mid Florida Tech is probably the best option. Their programa is 9 weeks i believe and it cost around $2k. Roadmaster wanted $6500 from me. I said screwed and found a college in Missouri that charged $3200 including dorms and meals and lasted 5 weeks. It was a better option for me.

OV-104. What experience do you have with national in green cove? i have been looking at their program and talking to one of their reps. I too am someone contemplating a job change and doing research on this site trying to make an educated and well informed decision. I have had a "B" for twenty years and throwing milk all this time but physically it is catching up to me. I have one daughter, now in her second year of college. This is something i have wanted to try since being a kid, but have put off active pursuit of this until she at least got out of high school. Have checked my local community college. Their program is 7 weeks and daytime only(they did have a night class at one time but no longer offer) and cant afford to go that long without paycheck. Just trying to figure out if i want to go with company sponsored training or go to a school.Just not keen on that 6 month to 1 year commitment thing. Looking to hear from anyone who has been in similar situation, who has gone through company sponsor. Good or bad experience? I am just up the road from Orlando , in Ocala.

If you are go Green Cove, you better off going to FSCJ driving program over at VQQ. It is 8 weeks long and only $2500, and you get your endorsements. As for National, I get alot of mixed reviews from that place, but they do have their own track.

    Robm Thanks this.

I went to National. I would recommend it to anyone. A little pricey, but you get a lot of seat time. I started a thread on it a while back, which you can read when you get a chance.

Robm, I had a very good time at National. You really do get alot of seat time. Depending on how they split your class, you will be either on the backing pad or out on the track the very first day. I have a daily write up here. They do have different recruiters come in to speak. Skip was my road instructor, but I hear he isn't there anymore. Too bad, he was very good. Learned alot from him. Gary and Dennis were very helpful on the backing pad. It was a pretty fast paced 3 weeks. Agree it is pricey, but worth it.

OV 104, H-D Road Glide, dark_reaper, Thanks for your comments. H-D i will check out your thread. dark reaper, i agree with you on the community colleges being cheaper than the schools. My local college has a course but 7or8 weeks to go to school and no income, not possible for me. OV, Nationals program does sound like it gives more hands on time than other school programs. Have a guy at work, he just started couple months ago, went to TDI. Was comparing National to TDI with him and he said sounds like more seat time than what he had, for the same $$$. Have been talking to Bruce at National and he seems to be easygoing, down to earth, has good sense of humor, but straightforward and honest. If rest of staff is like him, then it should be a good place.
