Look, it was a simple question to find out the difference in time between taking I-70 and I-80, not to get in a pissing contest with heavy haulers on what constitutes a heavy load. And yes, 43K is slow as hell in a Crapcadia going through Colorado, especially when you have Roundup sloshing around in the back going through 20 miles of curves in Glenwood Canyon.

Those Vail area plow crews are awesome. Too many trying to get to the slopes and spend money to mess around and taking excessive time cleaning up after a storm.

Dude, lay off the natural Colorado herbal products, CDOT sucks at clearing snow. I sat for 5 hrs last winter because of a spin out that resulted in a 7 car pile up, without a single big truck involved. It took them 2 hrs to clear traffic, 90 minutes to clear the wreck, 90 minutes to plow the road, after they plowed the first 500 yds, they let all the chained trucks follow the plows up the hill (this was on Eisenhower), it took 40 minutes to go from Silverthorne to the tunnel.

I get that following major storms can be slow. I'm talking about routine mountain showers they can address pretty quickly, unlike Wyoming that shuts down travel for 8+ hours every time they get an inch of snow combined with some wind.

SLC has plenty of lanes, and has never been a problem making good time,I always choose 80 when heavy.

The difference is, Wyoming gets more ice with the snowstorms than Colorado does. CDOT will put up the chain law for slush, and then except State patrol to overreact and overzealously enforce the chain law.
