Hang around for a bit deedee and you will see why Pete calls himself Cranky Yankee!
One thing you can always count on in this business, is the rumor mill. I'd be surprised if they actually put that into the law as far as limiting neck size. I could see all kinds of "discrimination lawsuits" over it. Now the sleep apnea test is a done deal as far as a lot of trucking companies are concerned, and this is driven by their insurance carriers.
OBTW, welcome to the forum! And the "world of truckin'!"

he won't be required to have a 17" neck. He may be required to be tested for sleep apnea if his neck is large. You said he has already been diagnosed with sleep apnea. I was told at my last physical (this past week) that in March people who are diagnosed with sleep apnea will be required to bring a printout of their sleep machine compliance when they go in for a physical.
Some facilities you will just bring the chip or memory card from your machine, if they don't have a chip reader you will bring the print out. If your hubby is following his treatment plan for his sleep apnea and has no other problems with the physical he should be good to go.deedeedallas Thanks this. -
Thanks for the great info!!

I appreciate the information and the encouragement!! I don't know how you gentlemen and ladies do what you do day in and day out! It's got to be one of the most dangerous jobs in the world! I worry more about the safety of my truck driving husband than I did when I was married to a cop!
Be safe!

That requirement may be a company doctor requirement as there are no regulations as of yet. I was told by swift I needed a DOT approved cpap machine that they could read my compliance. There's no such thing as a dot approved cpap.deedeedallas Thanks this. -

Lol! I have to find one of those! I am a professional certified bra fitter by trade and that could come in handy! Women don't like their "real" size either!!
