    I bought a uniden pc78ltx and was super pleased with it. Right out of the box you could reach out there and talk to someone. A lot has to do with your airials and cables.

    Honestly, for the little that I actually "talk" on a CB any more, I would just buy a used one from a CB shop, half price and usually already peaked and tuned.

    Used sounds like the best deal, didnt even think of that, and since ive had my truck broken into once already, used would seem like the best option,

    Yeah, I used to spend money on all of the latest stuff for radio's, simple truth is it is rare anymore when you can hook up with a good hand and run together for long stretches, pretty much I just have it on with the squelch turned way down and just listen for traffic and hazard warnings, I seldom run over the SL.
