07 Conestoga with a non DOT headboard. Front latching mechanism, has the 4 ears swing away guillotine type latches, I use the crank handle to lock them into place. With 1" square tubing spanning the drivers side to pass side of trailer to tie the latches all together. This is the old style latching system Conestoga used.

I want to mount a chain rack on the inside wall of the headboard. Im trying to figure out how to keep the tails of those hanging chains from spilling all over the floor, and getting wrapped up in the square tubing (which rotates) that spans L to R side of trailer. The chains will have to hang behind the square tubing, and thats only about a 2" or 3" gap back there.

Standard chain tubs used on head ache racks are too deep, theyll get the heck knocked out of them first time a fork lift comes to load nose of trailer. The only thing I can think to do is custom bend sheet metal to form a box, and bolt that to the headboard.

    Clear as mud lol? Ideas????
