i need suggestions for a quality flashlight.
a) i would prefer rechargeable.
b) Must be good to high quality.
c) The brighter the better, but i'm more concerned about quality and adequate brightness vs. the absolute brightest flashlight out there so that the cost won't be so high.
Need a decent flashlight:

I have this one & I dig it pretty well. Rechargeable, bright LEDs, three settings - normal, flood & combined.

Nice little flash light, you could buy rechargeable batters $9.99 at home depot

Small or full sized?
I have a two D-cell LED mag lite that I keep in my pickup for pretrips in the dark. I've replaced the batteries twice in four years.
I have a smallish tactical light, also LED, that I carry in the truck. I think it takes two AAs. I've never replaced them in the three years I've had it. I use it a few times every workday to find my way through dark Applebee's dining rooms, where the closers always leave some booby trap in the walkway.
LED technology has really reduced the need for rechargability, IMO.Big Don Thanks this. -

i bought one of these in 2011. durable as hell and fairly bright. it is hard on batteries, though. i am fairly certain i paid <$10 for it.

I have a streamlight stylus light. Slightly larger than a pen, billet aluminum and it charges off a USB. It may be small but it throws off an insane amount of light.
Dan.S and Crude Truckin' Thank this. -
I got this from the Snap On guy. USB rechargeable and can use AAA batteries as well. 40 bucks, but it's the best light I've ever had in 16 years of trucking.
