Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

casl,
apparently I am to new to the site be able to PM but I would like to learn about this opportunity. I am currently enrolled in The Wichita Truck Driving School and expect to graduate July 2, 2012 with a CDL A and Tanker endorsement. If we can get together somehow and at least talk about this, it would be awesome!
Thanks,
Dennis -
What is the locations... And hometime? I am looking into tank hauling.

Hey this may be a scam, This guy has wanted me to call his manager and he can't answer any questions like who the company is and so forth... I'm just being cautious with these guys in TX. or anywhere that a name can be stolen or an ID or whatever they think they can get. Just be careful.

Very very true! Thx

My apologies for not checking the thread earlier. Starsondwindow's conspiracy theories distracted me last time I logged on.
My partner and I own the equipment (2007 International and 2012 Heil Pneumatic trailer). Our manage ris the person with the information Star was seeking, hence why I referred him directly to the person with the answers. I don't know what the procedure is for housing, moving, etc. I only know the basics, which I have already disclosed. Sam manages the drivers, my partner and I just own the equipment and occasionally help with administrative matters such as this. I am not sure what kind of my-inheretance-needs-to-be-from-Nigeria-for-a-small-investment type of scam can be achieved by placing this thread.
That said, we haul with Circle Bar A and we are mainly in south Texas, particularly in and around Cotula and Corpus. We have a project close to materializing that will move our trucks to Montana. If that happens, the driver position may shift to salary based pay, instead of percentage. We currently pay 25% of the truck. You can expect to make 3-5k a month, and we have a 4k sign on bonus which is dispersed at 1k per quarter.
We require 1 year verifiable CDL driving experience, be at least 25 yrs old, and a clean driving record. All requirements are non negotiable.
Thank you for your time. Please PM me if interested and you meet the qualifications so I can place you in touch with the business manager. A quick phone call will get you all the particulars.

Don't take it personal Casl37. In our TTR community, we share knowledge here. Your first post had nothing to go on. No company name, phone number or DOT number. Which is a first red flag in my book. Not saying your here to scam but they come in all different varieties. I myself have called a few just to verify the legitimacy of them. Another thing I look at is the company DOT number. Believe it or not, I had a fellow who had a truck, wanting to put a driver in it but after looking at their authority. His insurance was revoked ten years ago. So as drivers, we have to investigate potential employers. So don't take it to heart when a member makes a statement about a potential employer.
Basically, your a O/O with equipment leased onto a company, correct ?starsonwindow Thanks this. -
Thanks, I understand.
Yes, we are owners, leasing our equipment onto a company, and need a driver to get the truck moving.
Thanks again.rookietrucker Thanks this. -
There are all kinds of scams, I went down to Midland and there were three(3) guys that contacted me that wanted to meet me in places that would have been scarey for the locals and for a guy not familiar with the area I was scared!, So now I am very cautious. I'm sorry if I made things sound worse then they are, I just know that there were several red flags that came up when you did not respond etc. Tak Care. -
Ok, So here is the scoop on this gig!! If you don't live in the area you will be LIVING in the truck, 24/7 sleeping driving whatever, You will be paid 25% of 82% of what the truck makes, You will get 1 day for 1 week in the truck, 7 for 7 etc. Truck goes down so does the $$ no truck movement no money!! I am not going to do this yet, I'm not there yet so to speak!! Take Care.
