Especially not for truckers! When I left driving, I was still 230lbs, with an 18" neck. Within a year, I'd lost 50 lbs, and 2" off my neck! All those miles and miles of bad roads on an air-ride seat with a sliding isolator really build up your neck muscles!

I have a couple more questions.

    1. has anyone packed up their belongings and put the most important stuff in storage and sold the rest and lived out of hotels for 5 to 6 years just to save money while on home time?

    2. is it easily doable to save half of your earnings in your first year?

    3. What is the typical average salary of people who run hard for first year truckers?

I apologize in advance if these questions are inappropriate, but my goal would be to make right around 60 grand and save 30-35K my first year. is this doable?

If you drive 120,000 miles a year at .48 cpm that’s $57,600. That might be low mileage because the speed limits are higher. It also depends on how many miles the trucking company has to keep you running. I started running cross country runs out for weeks at time. Now doing regional is lot less miles every week. The runs keep getting shorter and shorter. I have guaranteed minimum pay but it’s not $60,000 a year.

You can stay in your truck if you want to and get motel just to get out of the truck once in a while. You can keep running week after week. Most drivers do 34 hour reset at the truck stop and just keep going.

You can look on internet. My company has guaranteed minimum pay of $900 or $1000 a week depending if you run 7 days a week or 5 days a week and 2 days at home. It’s very had to get lots of miles running regional because of so many drop and hooks. It not just up to the driver you get stuck live loading because they did not preload trailers for you.

If you run regional and get paid per mile, you're getting screwed.

Speaking of CPAP . Was told to get tested back when covid started. Sent me home with a self-test. Next thing I know I'm using the machine. Used it for a few years but then slowed down the usage because they changed nose parts and I was more uncomfortable using the machine. So I haven't used it for months. No one monitors me. MY PC doctors office DOT Dr retired, and they no longer do testing. Always got a 2yr. January went to clinic and Dr only gave me a 1 yr says BP was too high. Wasn't feeling good and nervous about Cpap issue. They really didn't say much about it. Another place across town wants to see 90 days of compliance with CPAP. Can I just leave out the usage of Cpap as I don't use it anymore?
I told mu PC i don't use it anymore and he didn't seem concerned.

when you are using your CPAP machine, they record the number of instances you do not breathe. Honestly, I would find a Pulmonologist you trust, like and get along with. Tell him/her what you’re going through and see if they will retest you at home. When they do that, you are looking for numbers below 5 per minute I believe.

I found when using my dental appliance and CPAP machine, it is best because my numbers were slightly higher without the dental appliance. I believe the numbers were right around 3.7 without dental appliance and Cpap. with the dental appliance and CPAP combined, my numbers were right around 2.6. I was able to do this because I have a good relationship with my Pulmonologist office and told them what I wanted to do and see how it affects my sleep.

That’s a remarkable difference and it can mean the difference between night and day when it comes to feeling alert and having a better sleep. A dental appliance for those wondering, is a mouthguard on the top and bottom connected to each other thus when you snore, it opens and forces air through your airway. I use the nasal mask part for the CPAP and use the dental appliance.

That is how I am able to use both. if you use the full face mask, you will not be able to use the dental appliance and the CPAP machine.I hope this helps and if you have any questions, please post below or drop me a DM and I will do my best to answer but I am not a doctor and what I’m posting is my own experience with sleep apnea.
