If its not on paper it didnt happen
but still try to be as honest as possible. They found a ticket I forgot about 8 years ago and got all worked up about it.
-
I never did understand why they want the past 10 years. For me 10 years back would take me back to when I was 11 but like kaiwren986 said if it aint on paper didnt happen. I think companies are more concerned about ticket, violations, things of that nature.

HI;
Most of the time they are looking for your trucking history. But seeing that you have none and are going to a school you will have to start at the bottom anyway.
It is what you make of it. If you see you cup 1/2 empty it will be. If you see it 1/2 full it will be.
I did not have to do any of this years ago. it does not sound like much fun. The biggest problem I see with these schools and trainers is , Most of them don't know what they are doing to start with.
It takes very little time with some of these companies to become a trainer. They barely know how to back up a rig let alone what really needs to be done out here.
The low freight rates and all of the crazy rules have pushed many O/O s out of the game and few remain. By O/O I do not mean a {lease Train and Drive } Type of O/O .. More than likely they will never really own that truck. If they do they will have paid enough for it to have bought 2 .
Be very careful with that idea in your future.
Your work history may be important so I would list it. They more than likely will do some checking .
If you want to know the road and learn to understand it , find an older O/O that may be willing to help you with at least some of the real life stuff. Road rules are not taught in those schools and it gets very frustrating out here on the highway for some of us.
Common sense is one that is missing . 20 to 30 mph in truck stop parking lots seems common these days too.
Trailer tandems that are slide way up will cause the back end to swing into the guy parked next to you and may get you hurt.
Be careful and be honest and you may go far.JustSonny Thanks this. -
well thank you for your help.. i think i might be lucky the school i am going to is my local college and the trainer is a 12 year driving vet hey if you had to choose between --USA truck--Roehl transport---Covenant transport--Star--Swift-- which one would you all choose?
-
Your tax filings are proof of past history also. If you have none- make some.
Swift or Roehl would be decent. IMHO -
I would say Swift or Roehl as well, they have some of the nicer big company trucks out on the road. USA for example, they have alot of newer Internationals, but they're base level trim, nothing real nice about them, they dont even have the sideskirts. Covenant has alot of shabby FreightLiners, I think Star is about the same, dont see many of them around. Same with Celedon, base level trucks.
It may not seem like a big deal, but remember you're going to spend ALOT of time in your truck, might as well work for a company that has nice ones. -
Hey :
Sorry , I am an O/O and have always been. Atleast for 90 plus percent of my years in trucking.
I don't think I could drive for a company.
And I am not qualified to answer that for you.
I have a NO Forced dispatch and like it that way. I do not go where I do not want to.
Sounds like you may have run into a REAL Trainer. Good for you. -
10 year job history, but, only the most recent 3 need to be verified. (DOT rules). However, some companies do verify more than 3.
