Boy, what an adventure!!!!
I did not pass the first road test... BUT I was in CONTROL of the truck: I was able to downshift and double clutch and kept in on the lane at the speed I wanted, etc... What got me was the points from the narrative and I did touch the yellow line divider a little (MAJOR... I know!!!!), but the truck was NEVER coasting or drifting out of the lane... so now its a matter of polishing and talking... Now, I was checking intersections and such, I just was not saying I was enough...
IT'S ALL GOOD! I only had 2 hours a day for 3 days before they tested me and only 2 people passed and they already had experience and they barely passed. Well, one guy who was on his 4th try did really well the other on his third try failed.
In any case, BlueBonn, is going to be otherwise engaged and won't be able to mentor me... but it is a good news sort of thing the way he explained it, I am happy for him... and I knew this things are hard to arrange... so if any of you guys likes to mentor... I will be available either on the 1st of Nov... or a week later if i don't pass today...
Be well, I have not had so much crazy fun in years!
Need a mentor Early to mid November SLC...

It's amazing how much weight commentary carries with the testers. I'm sure you'll zing it today. Are your backing skills still top notch? I got to see people do awesome backing before the road week then the day of CDL testing they couldn't back for crap and failed. If after you pass the road eval they give you time to practice backing DO IT! Once again, good luck out there

lol My backing test was parallel to curb (couldn't really see) on a city street . . .
. . . and as the trailer started to cross onto the sidewalk instructor said
"WHOA! Good enough! You passed"! -
Actually, yesterday we did some parking and the offset was shaky... thank goodness for the free ONE HUNDRED AND FORTY FOOT PULL UP!!!!!!!!!!

I get to stay another week... not a bad deal at all... I will get more practice and I have two days off that I am using to drive around the routes where the test is given and talk out the narrative... a little insane, I know, but lack of effort is not going to get me...
This would make my orientation Tues 7-8... I am hoping one of you guys is in need of a student... Did I mention... I do windows and mirrors!!!!
