Anyone can run a reefer. Just a pain the ###. It's not a higher level of trucking. That's why it pays the same as dry van. Oversize is a higher level of trucking

Reefers should get payed more, they have to put up with grocery DC's bullsh%*. Every time I had to delivery to grocery warehouse I dreaded it. I honestly believe people that work at them hate their jobs

And that's why reefer is a pain in the ###, then you throw in the b.s. lumper fees. When your on time, you wait all day to get loaded/unloaded, you're 5 minutes late, "uh, we'll work you in" or "you have to reschedule your appointment ". I like the fcfs of dry van, not all perfect, but much better than dealing with grocery d.c.'s. Best of all, no lumper fees

1 more thing, driving 30+ miles in the opposite direction to get your trailer washed out is definitely a pain in the ###

The only benefit that reefer has over dry van is that you have more opportunity for freight, wet or dry. The only benefit dry van has over reefer is that we don't have to monitor the temps and fuel.

Dry vans still deliver to grocery warehouses (think about it, does your grocery store have more dry food isles or cold food?) and we suffer the same extended wait times, lumper fees and all the other hassles.

Know any high paying, well respected companies, pulling reefer?
If you like to sleep, more than drive, choose reefer.
If you like to drive, and rack up mileage, choose dry van.

I've always made more pulling dry van than reefer.
With now where near the headache.
