I loved refueling airliners in Orlando and Daytona. Driving for the catering company, like Gate Gourmet might be a good job for the OP. But as Chinatown said earlier, those jobs won't count toward OTR or truck driving experience since they are 6-wheelers. Also, triple verify the pay with them. In many places I've lived airport work pays barely above minimum wage. Some of the actual airlines pay their employees pretty well, but there are contractor companies that provide bodies for smaller airlines and they pay very little. Hudson General was one that had people all over the country. If they paid above min-wage they only paid it in NYC. Other locations they paid 10 cents above min-wage. Airline catering is easier than refueling, but they are both interesting jobs and working behind the scenes at the airport is fun. You better have a clean criminal record and pass any drug test.

Are there any CDL schools in Miami that help graduates find positions?

Couple drivers on here went to Gate Gourmet for a few months, then changed to tractor-trailers. They said that experience was accepted.

They all do. Usually offer the easy job placement with Schneider and Werner and PAM.
    `
WIOA Program, Florida will provide free cdl training; no cost to you. They work with accreditied cdl schools that companies hire from. Most important is to attend a cdl school that's at least 160 hrs.

Try Sage in Fort Pierce..closest I know of.

Call them and then go to one of their meet and greets. They won’t tell you much over the phone. Sage is through Indian River Community College.

Every CDL school has job placement because they have to report their placement rate to the Feds.

Just Google CDL school + city. There are also Community College programs. Warning those have long waiting lists & can take months to complete. CDL school is just to pass the state road test. You will spend weeks training at your first company riding with a trainer. School is just a formality. Private schools cost more but start every Monday. Community College is less expensive but long waits to get in. Find the job then decide about school. You will not have time in school to research employers. Finding the company for you is far more important that CDL school.
