Been here just over 6 years, no major problems at all. Freight has been slow lately, but that is the norm for this time of year everywhere. We have some nit picky rules we are supposed to follow, but again so do other companies. All the mega carriers have their S.O.B. rules and people, but it is the S.O.B. that you know and are able to work with that makes the difference. I could probably go somewhere else and make more, but I get what I want and need here. Good luck with your decision.

No APUs, They don't want you to idle needlessly but they say idle to be comfortable in the truck. The allowed idle percentage changes with the season. Most trucks have a webasto for winter heat. No pets, but there is a rider policy with approval in company trucks.

Here almost a year.. I don't bother them, they don't bother me. Hometime is decent. I usually get home the day before or the day after the date I put in for.

I'm with Swift ... but I'm L/O, it works for me and I'm happy. I have friend who runs with Marten, he's pretty happy over there, they keep him moving and they do have APUs.

I was with swift for almost 2 years. Left this past November for that oh so coveted local job where you're home every weekend, and to spend more time with sick wife. AND I'VE BEEN MISERABLE SINCE!! This past Friday I put in my request for rehire, wife told me if I didn't go back OTR she was gonna, and I was bored as heck driving the same route every week.
I told that story to tell you this one; Swift isn't for everyone, they have some rules and such that I don't personally agree with, but there really are some good folks that work there, and for the most part you'll be treated kindly and with respect by your fellow employees. I'm hoping to be one of them again soon.
