If you have a non CDL driving job to go to you may be able to get the occupational license,........
I doubt that they will give you one to just drive around,.. -

Not looking for sympathy, just advice. I admit i was wrong, i understand i'll have to deal with the consequences. Thanks

my first dui cost me a 7mo suspension and $1000 fine in wi. thats when they were weak. wi now uas some of the strongest dui laws in the country. a friend just served 30 days on top of everything else for his.
know what you are talking about before you put it out for the whole world to see. a cdl holder is held to the standards of a cdl wether or not he is in a car or truck.
to me that mo law looks pathetic. theyre are the ones who are soft.
the original post was addressed how many ways can you say " you are ######" now we are debating hanadarkos assenine statement -
dont know about MO but in WI its nearly impossible to get a dui dropped from your record. its worth fighting but its gonna cost you a buttload

The way the laws are going, it's unacceptable to get a DUI. Back in the day a plea of "I'm sorry. I made a mistake" would work for the first time. Now it's more like, "You know better. We are going to make an example of you."
I think as time goes by more and more courts are going to get harder and harder on DUI's.
Weird thing about this is. I know of a cop in the town where I live. He was caught with a bottle of whiskey....IN HIS PATROL CAR!!!! He got fired. When the smoke cleared he got a job as a jailer. Now he's back to his original job as a patrolman. I don't think it's right at all to nail someone to the wall and let others slide but that's the way it works. -
Nice!
- Talking about DUI laws isn't asinine. I have lost 2 valuable friends to idiots that choose to drink and drive. It's a conscious decision one
makes...no one forces you to drink & drive...these are totally preventable. That's what gets frustrating. At least there wasn't an accident involved with injuries or death (I presume..).
No matter what people say, WI laws are a joke. Yes they are better than a year ago but still too lame.....
Either way, this guy is in deep ####. Being a 1st offense, maybe he will get a decent lawyer and come out w/o too much damage....at least it wasnt in a CMV...I suppose thats the only positive side... Best of luck to the OP...Hiring a driver would be a good idea I think....
Insurance stops me dead in my tracks (if I needed a reason). Both my personal and professional insurance companies told me I would be DROPPED if I produce any DUI....just try and get insurance then, after your dropped...OMG- -
My friend just got a DUI here in Wisconsin. She got an occupational license to go back and forth to work but she had to fill out a form stating what time work started and ended and how far her commute was. She has to be off the road at 9 p.m. everynight. She is allowed to drive for shopping trip and such (she goes to Green Bay, which is 100 miles one way). She hasnt even gone to court yet and her insurance has already DOUBLED.

i dont think it matters that much that you werent in a cmv--as a cdl holder, lots of times you are held to higher degree than if you held just normal license
lots of places the amount of blood/alcohol content is lower just because you hold a cdl than if it would be if you didnt have cdl
